The Summer 2023 was originally intended to be an un-themed issue, following the selection process, the editorial team noticed an emerging constellation of works on myth, memory, and folklore in its foundational pieces and retroactively titled the issue Mizna: Myth and Memory.

The winter 2021 issue of Mizna, guest-edited by Tarik Dobbs, challenges conventional forms, language, and ideas within literary processes and traditions. Mizna: The Experimental Issue features poetry, prose, visual poems, collage, erasures, and more by award-winning authors, artists, filmmakers, and activists including Mohammed El-Kurd, Tracy Fuad, Hajjar Baban, George Abraham, Glenn Shaheen, and Nadia Shihab.
