During the Algerian revolution, director Ounouri’s great-uncle joined his sister in France and joined a secret FLN (National Liberation Front) armed group. Today, at the age of 70, El Hadi reveals this dark part of his life. By recreating a path through France and Algeria of El Hadi during those dark years, hearing his words and those of the people he meets along the way and with whom he remembers, we discover something new: a living history that challenges the official textbook versions we have become accustomed to or have been taught.
Friday, 3/15 at the Heights Theater 5:00 p.m.
